Rocket Ride is a St. Louis based band dedicated to pay tribute to the one our favorite guitar players - Ace Frehley. We have had a love for the band KISS since our childhood days, as many others have, and have yet to outgrow the WANT to still act like KISS. Rocket Ride is basing it's music selections primarily around Ace Frehley (Solo and with KISS), but adding some variety of other tunes as well. If you saw Ace's tour in 2008, you know what we mean. The concept for the band was a thought BC had for a while, especially after seeing Ace’s 2008 tour. BC approached Steve with the idea (Ace Frehley songs and no makeup - just good music), since they were working together in another project already. Steve liked it, so some band name ideas were discussed and settled on Fractured Mirror – BC liked the name Rocket Ride.
After some research on the name it was foind that there was a Fractured Mirror (tribute to Ace Frehley) based out of New York, which had Rex Eisen (AKA Tripp Eisen of Dope, Static X and Murderdolls) and had been inactive for some time.
Our band was contacted by the founder of the original Fractured Mirror (Bill Baker) and was informed that they were active once again and asked if we would change our name to avoid confusion. We agreed and decided on the name Fractured Too. Bill suggested that we have a more original name, so the name didn’t sound like a “second part” to their name. Bill suggested a couple names, of which one was Rocket Ride,, yes, the original name idea from BC – confused yet??
Knowledge tidbit for those who don't know: Rocket Ride is a song written by Ace Frehley, while with KISS, around 1977 and appeared on KISS ALIVE II. Ace likes to introduce the song by saying it is about space travel, then changes to say “it’s really about entering a black hole.” Listen to the song lyrics and use your imagination if you don't understand the "black hole" comment.
The band added David Scott King (10/24) as the 2nd guitar and additional vocals. Completion took place on Feb 6th when Bill Boyd (original bass player) came into the band.
The band discussed some restructure ideas and decided to add more KISS songs than 1st intended. On this note the band is now a main core Ace Frehley tribute, but also paying tribute to KISS as well - now called "A tribute to Ace Frehley and KISS". We do the shows without makeup, but another project may form in the future that would include makeup and wardrobe as KISS.
Now fasten your seatbelts, because it's time to jump on this Rocket Ride, to Rock n Roll All Night and Party Every Day, while we Rip It Out to the New York Groove until we're Snowblind!!
ROCKET RIDE just played the KISS Convention this weekend !

It's been while - but late March I was back in the Netherlands with Dutch KISStributeband KISS ON THE ROCKS and we had a great rock n roll party in Roermond.
KISS ON THE ROCKS performed a full show and I had the honour of making a special guest appearance with them.
I really had a great time with the band and really felt a part of the KOTRfamily !
Great to be around such an harmonic team and getting to know these guys better then before again.
Here are some great pictures ''stolen'' from www.kissontherocks.com
It was great wearing the full Paul Stanley costume together with my longtime Dutch ''brother'' - who is the Starchild in KOTR.
A HUGE ''Thank you'' goes out to KISS ON THE ROCKS and all the others who helped to make this
awesome day possible !
